DogfishHeadPaloSanto

The Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron is a powerful beer. It is an american brown ale that has as much alcohol as many wines (12%). It gets its name from the time it spends aging in wooding barrels made from Palo Santo, which is apparently a tree. I never knew how much I could learn about trees by drinking beer. I guess that’s what the old man would call a “finge benefit.”

Personally, I don’t think I’m enough of a connessieur (i.e. beer geek) to enjoy this one. I know plenty of people whole love it and tell me all about the delicious complexity of caramel and vanilla that make this beer like a crazy delicious party in your mouth. For me, it’s just too much to be enjoyable.

Despite how I feel about this one, I recommend everyone try it. Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron is an incredibly unique beer, yet it is easy to find and pretty cheap (all things considered). You’re either going to love it or hate it, but you’ll never know unless you give it a try.
